MAGIC for Windows was designed to be the most complete rating software available to the Texas insurance industry. Our many years of service to Texas agents and companies and our active involvement with insurance trade associations and regulators gives us unique insight in software development.

The Windows Rating software has many advantages over the older DOS Rating software. They include:

1.	No printing problems - DOS printing was sometimes a problem under Windows.
2.	Speed - Point and click is much faster than navigating the many screens and menus in DOS Rating.
3.	Training is simple - The Learning CD's walks you right through the process and the CD's are reusable for new hires.
4.	E-mailing rating worksheets, applications and proposals - Saves time and money, plus it's impressive to your clients and companies.
5.	Correcting mistakes - You don't have to wait until the bottom of a screen
6.	Integration with agency management systems is simple and a real time saver. (Note: Integration is available with MARS, AIMS and the AMS family of management systems).
7.	Custom Proposals - Proposals now go to Microsoft WORD™ so you can include your letterhead, change the font, font size, color as well as wording as desired.
8.	Comparative Rating - With the stored company filings and the optional credits for each company on the screen, it's easier, faster and just as accurate to rate in the system rather than go to the individual company web sites or use the company rating disks. You can transfer the data to your management system - you can't do that from their web site or rating disk.
9.	The Lookups and Help are even better than the DOS Rating.
10.	Support - Downloading releases, fixes and interim symbol/PPC/optional credit revisions as well as e-mailing irs-aims support staff right from the system is so much easier and efficient.

User Friendly Programs

In addition to the windows ease-of-use features, MAGIC for Windows includes time saving shortcuts for your experienced raters and safeguards against inexperienced employees selecting erroneous options. On-line lookups eliminate the need to reference your paper manuals for determining class codes and classification descriptions, symbols, territories, public protection classes and other necessary rating information.

Defaults

You can pre-set commonly used data such as territories, limits, deductibles, and coverage options. Using the default features in MAGIC for Windows results in real time savings for your day-to-day quoting. The default feature can also provide effective Errors and Omissions protection by insuring that all quotes include predetermined agency standards.

Company Filings

You can enter the flex band and loss cost multiplier filing information for your companies or irs-aims can provide the information for a nominal fee. Either way you have the ability to accurately quote for your companies. Click below for information on all available company filings.

Quotes for Prospects

The Quick Quote option in MAGIC for Windows lets you get right to the bottom line premium for the “just looking” prospect. Store the quote in a prospect file and when the policy is purchased quickly transfer the information to the new client file as you add the detailed data.

On-line HELP

MAGIC for Windows provides expert Help with a click of the mouse. Technical help regarding the various rules and regulations pertaining to a coverage as well as general tips about how to enter rating data correctly is provided.

Coverage Comparisons

MAGIC for Windows has an “across-the-board” change feature that enables you to easily provide alternate quotes.

Change limits, deductibles, territories, etc. for the policy quickly. You can store any or all of the alternate quotes or just the final version.

Comparative Rating

All flex rated lines of business in MAGIC for Windows contain a comparative rating feature. irs-aims provides the flexibility to correctly apply the flex band filings as well as optional credits on each company you want to compare

Unlike many of the other rating software packages available, MAGIC for Windows highlights the optional credits allowed by each company (if the credit is not allowed then the option is disabled), displays the requirements to qualify for the discount, provides the amount of the discount and with a simple double click of the mouse, applies the credit to the applicable coverages. These are features not found anywhere else.

Rating Worksheets / Schedule Summaries

The rating worksheet or schedule summary prints or displays at your choosing after the rating process is complete. The rating worksheet is designed to detail all the information used in calculating the premium for use by the agent or company. The schedule summary provides coverages and bottom line premium. The schedule summary is designed to be given to a prospect as it doesn’t “give away the farm”.

The printing features of Windows allows you to select the printer to be used, the number of copies to be printed, and if desired, save the rating worksheet or schedule summary to a file which can be attached to e-mail.
